now next to my new project, my own website :P i’m so lazy when designing my own website, i don’t know why. because it’s already white, who need a tweak anyway when it’s perfect in my eye. But i have to do it, i have to practice a lot if i want to go into designing. Right now i’m a back-end php programmer, i’ve got nothing to show beside the system work smooth :D .

I design this site with a little help from my friend, it’s mainly design for firefox, not IE or Opera but it’s not fundamental as long the client is happy, any critics are welcome.

btw this is my friends website too, it’s about Gemstone Jewelry, with main focus in selling Necklaces, Bracelets and Others type of jewelry like prayer beads.

Don’t u think the Jewelry pictures are good too?? :D Half of them are my creation, I use my Digicam Canon A530 to shoot it, when I’m taking pictures of the jewelry i just use plain white desk in my office and adjust the speed in to 1/15 or 1/5. For resolution i use 1600×1200, who need big resolution when i’m going to resize it anyway. I use Acdsee 8 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 in editing, I don’t mainly use CS2, it’s too lenghty and heavy, the editing that i’m using is leveling to adjust the light composition in my pictures, auto contrast and sometimes reduce noise. even when i’m resizing i still use Acdsee. Of course i use Dreamweaver 8 in coding, i tried many editor like notepad++ and vi, but still dreamweaver is very addicting to use.

The theme in te-amy’s site is k2 custom theme, later on i want to create my own theme for my own website :D, wish me luck!

huaahh, many things has happen to me this two weeks, its been a hell of a week, sad things and happy things occur to me this last two weeks. Sad things first, My mother had a surgery last Tuesday. This is a very intense moment for my family and relatives, but the good news, the operation is success and the doctor reported that my mother is okay :D .

Also the past two weeks our company celebrate its birthday!! we had tons of activity, such as sport competitions, yell-yell competitions(yeah, quite lame but who cares! everyones doing it!), singing competition and door prize!!. The first week on May 10th we had sport competitions with all districts in Indonesia, the competition took place in Bogor.

Last but not least, This is my best friend popie(the girl who give me comb), who came home from her work place at Aceh, we go together to Mangga Dua at Jakarta Timur, I was helping her buying digital camera last Friday and we bought Canon S570 is, we got a deal at US$235 with 1Gig SD, 4 rechargeable AA and a Camera Bag. I shoot this picture while we were in Pademangan Busway station, while i shoot her picture she also shoot me with her phone :D

If Gaming addiction is a disease then i don’t want to be healthy. I had the best disease in the world. As an average geeks, to me gaming is a very special experience every time i’m in it, that in some way it lights up my geeky life. In my old life(college days, high school), i put my time to defeat boss game as the first then i put my girlfriend second (and she understood :D isn’t she the best!), after that college task :D. I once feel, in a conscious state, that if i fail in doing something in my life, i just load up my last save files :D

But those days are almost drifting away from me, there are two things that make me procrastinate in gaming on my PC.

First, it’s the cost of building an adequate PC for gaming, its painfully high, i mean really really high. I starts off on the wrong foot in gaming, I played PC gaming since my childhood and never had a chance to own a console gaming. To me it’s okay for a couple of years, i played from FPS, RPG, RTS to Simulation, u name it!; nothing at the moment could beat this kind of genre. At that time there’s only Sony Playstation and Dreamcast could match up, all of them doesn’t have the quality of gameplay as PC. Then i start invest a large sum of money in my pc to play the best game, and boy do i was wrong.

The last straw i was investing is when i bought a VGA card that was quite expensive at that time for trying to keep up with the PC gaming world, TWO MONTH later there’s already a bunch of game that couldn’t play on my PC.

Two years ago i finally hit rock bottom in gaming, I was trying to find the right game for my PC NOT adjusting to my favorite genre. This isn’t good, i purchased too much game but there’s no decent one to be remembered.

I know i had to change direction if i want to pursue my hobby in gaming, i choose mobile gadget that could fulfill the need of gaming, i choose it because it’s the early days of working as an employee, i could play it while i was on the road. The gadget is Nintendo DS. I Bought it two years ago(a white one :( ) and its a blast. Right now i’m saving for Nintendo Wii

The Second reasons why i procrastinate in gaming is my job, Its time consuming damn it!!

But to make me not gone away from gaming life, there’s a couple of site that is a must have on my google reader (I’m still trying netvibes, but couldn’t get a hang of it, maybe in a couple days).

For the huge info on game wallpaper and everything, the number 1 spot that i check is Download Munkey , Mr. Munkey here have an excellent taste on choosing wallpaper.

On gaming info and review i choose Gamespy, IGN and Gamezone. In the old days i usually check Gamespot because it has a great database on gaming, but right now it’s too commercial, u have to subscribe to get the best of it. For free gaming magazines sometimes i download on VGpub and for the cheat i check religiously use gamefaqs.

Not enough with just nadd syndrome, now I’m crazy in shooting everything with my digicam. I mean, I shoot Everything. Anything that I define as reality, I took a picture of it :D .

There are two common criteria that are often fits for me to take pictures at, number one if it caught my attention then I took it, number two if it look like an ordinary scene, I try to take a picture of it in a different angles that makes it look interesting.

In my mind everything has a moment of it, some moment are repeatable some moment don’t. I just try to make a most out of it by taking pictures.

The total pic that I caught since I bought my digicam is 2500+ pictures, last Wednesday when I was gone to Lampung for three days, I shoot 422 pictures. I know most of my pictures are garbage, but if I shoot the right object, that feels really good. I know I’m achieving in the right direction. I think I’m going to a positive progress. Sometimes it’s a chick magnet too :D if she look at your pictures, but alas it’s only a trickle effect.
There are two things that forbid me to take more pictures:

1. Limited storage in my camera (1Gig SD card)
2. Battery life, around 150-200 shots per-pair of battery (less if its a night scene)

So for my friend who want to go abroad in a couple of months to come, please buy minimum 2Gigas of memory and buy a rechargeable battery, minimum two.

Another of things that I learn in taking good pictures is the lighting of the object. The sun still is the best lighting of all but it has some draw back. The drawbacks are, it took away the detail in the far away object if you are facing directly to the sun, If the sun shine with a little cloud, it’s almost certain that the cloud will not appear in your camera.

In indoor shooting try to combine ISO setting and focal point, try to remember that the higher ISO setting the higher the noise in the pictures get but the higher focal point the more shaky pictures get(use tripod if necessary).

To be honest if u want great pictures buy SLR camera(doh!) or semi SLR, don’t buy pocket, it’s one of my regrets in buying digital camera, pocket are only for fun with friends or for the sake of mobility. It’s not the worth of the precious moment that u want to record.

The drawback of SLR camera in a glimpse is the weight, the high cost of it and the high learning curve. I learn this not by reading reviews or borrowing from friends, I learn it from my neighbor. He just bought a Nikon D40, it cost him around US$800, the price of the camera is only around US$500 but the accessories are the killer for the budget. He said choosing a brand for the camera is almost like choosing a religion for your belief. The reason why he chooses Nikon for his SLR because Nikon last more longer in the lifetime of the camera rather than others like Canon, Canon on the other side made SLR tend to be more commercial. Well I believe what he said; he is in the same position like me in photography but he has the budget to start with great equipment and particularly he is

studying at photography school now. Funny things that I just know is that when I’m going to shoot with his SLR, I can’t use the LCD, I have to use the viewfinder to shoot it and I’m eagerly trying to explain him that there is a way to make it appear on LCD while shooting, after long debate and tweaking, i started to feel ashamed :D.

So what is the connection between these stories with the title of the post? Well, my friend Risti once mailed me tips in macro photography; she gave me an anonymous quote that could explain to me who I really am and it got me remembering that I was crazy at taking pictures

So if u’re in a good time with your friends or family, take pictures of it to remember. Sometimes it will be too late before you realize that kind of moment, it will be not repeaten.

My friend (Maskman) at his farewell party had a lunch in one of Japanese restaurant at TB Simatupang Jakarta Selatan. The lunch is swell he said. They had a lot of picture while in the restaurant but couldn’t get enough lighting, so many of them are a bit dark, i even had to photoshop it to make it bright. the picture was taken with Sony Cybershot.

There’s only picture three picture of food that was taken, the rest it’s already been eaten or not in their first state.

Don’t Forget the dessert.. there’s Udon Noodle, Cold Noodle and many feast but there’s too much if i had to upload it. The Total cost that his boss spend in this restaurant is around Rp. 1.900.000 (US$ 195) for 11 person. To sum it up, I think it’s worth it if u want to eat in a sushi restaurant with a cozy atmosphere.

A lot of my friends didn’t believe how serious i am that i have a lot of work load in my office, even though i already post Hectic Days in the Office. To proof to my friends that i’m really busy, i again took pictures to show how serious i am.

they become so concentrated when i was saying this is for documentation to show how busy our office are. they’re concentrating on the recent DVD that we bought yesterday before :D . This is work office hour men! so concentrate when u’re watching the movie and stop fooling around.

But not far from there, there is a GIRL who sit on my chair, OMG, i don’t like someone to sit in my chair without my permission and worse, she was ripping off my real genuine authenticated mp3 formatted songs!!

Even though it’s quite irritating, i don’t mind what she was doing, it’s all in days work. Oh yeah i took picture of my self while i was doing weekly report for my development directorate with my reporting specialist(i forgot what the position is but it is so fu**in important :D )

man, i was so so busy, i couldn’t concentrate to my writing while this pic was taken.
