Drifting Cars?? That’s So Yesterday, Drifting a TRAIN now that is really Awesome (Super Awesome!!)

This incident define new meaning of awesome to me. The train drift happen in Rangkasbitung to Jakarta near Kampung Bandan Station. This is super cool compared to the “blink-blink with hideous light that sickened my eye using mommy and daddy’s dough” car (or maybe that’s just me who doesn’t have one :P ). cmiiw i think the weight of the head of the train is 3000+ kilos.

The incident happen fully because of human error, Republika wrote that this happen because the wesel is pull late or the wesel itself doesnt open perfectly when the train passed (dont ask me what is a wesel). luckily there’s no casualty involves, only the “oh shit i forgot to pull the wesel plug” person get warning from the company maybe :D The picture taken from Republika Newspaper Mei 29th 2008 Edition.

an Alien??!!! a Polyethylene Skull??!!

[major Indiana Jones Crystal Skull spoiler ahead]
Crystal Skull?? more likely a plastic filled with silver paper skull in my opinion, the movies really great, it brings up the hype of Indiana Jones, actions are really great too even though it seems the motorcycle that Shia LaBeouf rode looks too big for his size

But when the dreaded plastic skull was found, me and my girl look at each other and she said “Yang filmnya kok mule aneh” (which translated to “honey the movie are starting to get weird”), she said it so polite while in my head i’m thinkin “What the F***!!! is this for real??!! is this the skull that they’re talkin about!!! is this the things that i’ve been waiting since last year to watch???”.

To me the skull is a major turn off, until the end of the movie i was hoping that indi will said “This is not the real skull!! is the fake ones!! now that green shiny jade look alike are the real skull!!”.

With all the budget they have, the CG effect that they could make, with the combination of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Why God!! why they choose alien to be main topic of the movie. Let’s not forget some of the action in the movie looks really cheap, like the time when indi stare at the skull for a while and stunned goin crazy (i think they’re trying to build up tension so the skull look scary) and the most freakin cheap action is when Shia jumping around like tarzan (yes, Tarzan) pulling those rope to rope in the tree chasing Cate Blanchett car. All of this remind me The Mummy Movies

To be fair the action, the theme and scenery are really great, some of them like the scene from “Serious Sam: The First Encounter”. Some of the orchestrated music are similar to Starwars epic, and the car chase is similar too with the Starwars V (cmiiw) speeder chase. The camera angle are surprisingly fun. To sum of it all the action in the movie is like “A series of Very Fortunate Even” :D

Maybe i’m gettin old or something, but i felt more and more action movies look the same and have the same flow composition. imho indi movies should stick to the traditional action and logic like the old days. Or maybe i had so much to criticize about the movie because i watch it from the front second row, so everything looks so huge.

The Heist

After almost a month from now, i still doesn’t have net access in my new house and it felt terrible. I can only accessed the net from my office and last week was the worse, whole week without access, i even miss a post from mr Roys about “Mecha Galore in A.C.E 3″ in random monday for me.

Well there’s some positive things that i get from not having net accessed, i finish reading 3 books (i’ll post about it later) and watching again my old DVD collection. Last night i watch Ocean’s 13, it was quite entertaining but not as much as the first one, but for sure it’s better than Ocean’s 12.

What interest me the most about the movie is the art of heist and its just a coincidence howstuffworks happen to post about Five Impressive Art Heists. It’s funny to find out that most of the heist doesn’t need an elaborate plan like Mr Ocean did. One of the heist even use a fake mustache just to pull the con. But there’s a brilliant method too like using a wide spread of distraction like bomb rumor on the far side of the target and putting nails on the road lead to the museum. The most important thing about the heist method in the real world is said and i quote

a simple, brute means of physical violence that’s not impressive or clever enough to make it into heist movies

That’s a disappointment’s for me that the real deal was far more gruesome than the movie.

nevertheless i read more on heist in howstuffwork like Five Largest Diamond Heists, Ten Terribly Bungled Crimes and The great train robbery.
